Kern, M.D. FSCAI, FAHA, FACC Chief Cardiology, Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital Associate Chief, Division of Cardiology Professor of Medicine University California, Irvine Dr. Kern is currently Professor of Medicine, Chief of Cardiology at the Long Beach Veterans Administration Hospital and Associate Chief, Division of Cardiology, University California Irvine. Dr. Kern, formerly Professor of Medicine and Director of the prestigious JG Mudd Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Louis University continues to actively perform and teach cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary interventions. Dr. Kern is ABIM Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology and has serves on many national and international cardiovascular societies.

About Us

CathLabEssentials is a the first of its kind website dedicated to Cardiac Catheterization education. Dr. Morton Kern, author of Cardiac Catheterization Handbook, takes his years of experience in teaching about the Cath Lab and brings it to CathLabEssentials. He and his colleagues teach the viewer about the Cath Lab using an educate and demonstrate approach. There are a series of lectures teaching about an array of Cath Lab topics. There are also Cath Lab demonstrations that bring the viewer into the lab like no text could and shows the viewer how to perform a cardiac cath and use the equipment commonly encountered in the Cath Lab.
